Great food. Great founder. Brand story hadn't been told yet.

A kung fu film about katsu curry. Several stores nationwide and counting.

The Ingredients

iso. made exceptional katsu curry. The food was already the answer — full of personality, full of craft, with a founder who had a genuine story and a vision to grow.

The question was: what’s the most interesting way to introduce the King of Katsu to the world? The answer involved a kimono, deliberately bad dubbing, and a commitment to slapstick that most brands would never dare.

They didn’t want a food brand video. They wanted a genre film. We obliged.

“Mohammed Miyagi.”

— Yusuf, iso.”

The kimono. The bad dubbing. The sensei who makes katsu curry. None of it should have worked. All of it did. Several stores nationwide, a fan base that genuinely loves the joke as much as the food, and a founder who became a character worth following.

The King of Katsu bows to no one.
